The event took place on Monday, April 1, at the Lord Hobo Brewing Company in Woburn.
The Massachusetts Brewers Guild (MBG) was formed in 2007 to promote craft brewing and protect the interests of craft brewers in Massachusetts. Each quarter the MBG brings together member brewers and industry professionals for an afternoon of learning, networking, and good beer. More than 120 MBG members and industry professionals attended the event, and attendees heard from MBG’s board of directors and received an update on government affairs work, marketing programs, and upcoming events.
In addition, blumshapiro representatives Robert Oliver, director, and Steven Treglia, manager, spoke to the group about blum’s BPO (business process outsourcing) services. Specifically, they discussed the challenges that entrepreneurs in the brewery industry face when it comes to building out back office functions like bookkeeping, accounting, and HR, while attempting to remain as lean as possible in these areas.
Food and Beverage is one of blum’s areas of industry expertise, with a specific focus on breweries. “We understand the challenges independent breweries in particular face, and really enjoy working with breweries to turn these challenges into growth opportunities,” said Oliver. “We serve as a back-office partner with many breweries by delivering services like outsourced accounting and HR to give them the support they need while keeping costs low.”
