4/5/19

The South Shore Chamber of Commerce and the South Shore YMCA will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross during the 7th Annual South Shore Health & Wellness Fair on Friday, May 3rd. The blood drive will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the South Shore YMCA – Emilson, 75 Mill Street in Hanover.

“The South Shore Chamber of Commerce is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations,” said Peter Forman, President and CEO of the Chamber. “Holding this blood drive during our highly attended annual Health & Wellness Fair is our way of giving all who attend an opportunity to help save lives.”

Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the United States needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross.

Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative. To schedule your donation time slot, go to www.redcrossblood.org and type in sponsor code SSCHAMBER in the search window.
