Revolution Dancewear, a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity, announces the acquisition of International Dance Supplies.

International Dance Supplies is a Newton Abbot, United Kingdom-based supplier of dance costumes, practice dancewear, shoes, and accessories to a diversified B2B and B2C customer base in the UK and Europe.

THE DEAL

Revolution Dancewear, a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity, has completed the acquisition of IDS. This acquisition represents the Company’s third acquisition, and first completed since Audax’ initial investment in Revolution in June 2018. Revolution’s acquisition of IDS creates a more diversified provider of dance costumes and practice dancewear, and also expands Revolution’s operating footprint across Europe.

THE THESIS

Headquartered in Niles, IL, Revolution is a leading global supplier of dance recital costumes, competition costumes, footwear, and practice dancewear under its Revolution, 10th House, and Plume brands. Audax will work with the Revolution management team to build on Revolution’s position in the industry and accelerate growth by continuing its investment in higher-end competition costume lines and its online micro-site platform (Nimbly), and through acquisitions to continue geographic and product line expansion.
