Well, the leader of General Electric (NYSE:GE), John Flannery, has now come public and has produced his vision of the future.
Following the announcement that General Electric “will spin off its healthcare business and shed its ownership in oil services company Baker Hughes,” Flannery was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal.
I was hoping, with the latest actions by Flannery and GE, that we would get some insight into what the vision of the company might be.
Unfortunately, after I read the report of the interview I felt no closer to what Mr. Flannery might have for the company than I did before.
He did talk about what defines GE. But his discussion of what defines GE was not an explicit statement of some vision. Mr. Flannery’s thoughts were in response to a question about GE being removed from the list of companies that make up the Dow Jones Industrial Index.
