FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--International Data Corporation (IDC) today published an IDC Innovators report focusing on four technology vendors that have built tools to address geospatial traceability and analytics within the supply chain. The four vendors named as IDC Innovators are: ClearMetal, Convey, GrandCanals, and Roambee.
"The increased focus on the supply chain as a critical customer satisfaction lynchpin has led to more interest in traceability within the supply chain," said Victoria Brown, research manager, Global Supply Chain Execution. "No longer is understanding the shipment number and planned delivery window acceptable. Customers expect to know exactly where their goods are, and manufacturers aim to optimize their production processes and inventory, and mitigate risk and down time."
ClearMetal offers a highly computational approach to freight movement and intermodal traceability. Convey aggregates and normalizes transactional data in the supply chain for comprehension of where goods are and creates alerts and warnings to triage last-mile delivery interferences. GrandCanals applies data science to predict, track, and optimize a company's fulfillment strategy, performance, and cost, specifically in parcel-level packaging distribution. Roambee uses IoT devices to relay transactional data in live time and has a platform to transmit and translate the readings into actionable information.
The report, IDC Innovators: Geospatial Traceability and Analytics in Supply Chain, 2018 (IDC #US43316517), profiles four emerging technology providers that have built tools to address geospatial traceability and analytics through a variety of mechanisms. The IDC Innovators research document examines geospatial traceability and analytics technology providers with revenue of less than $100 million with a product, service, or business model with a specific use case.
About IDC Innovators
IDC Innovators reports present a set of vendors – under $100 million in revenue at time of selection – chosen by an IDC analyst within a specific market that offer an innovative new technology, a groundbreaking approach to an existing issue, and/or an interesting new business model. It is not an exhaustive evaluation of all companies in a segment or a comparative ranking of the companies. Vendors in the process of being acquired by a larger company may be included in the report provided the acquisition is not finalized at the time of publication of the report. Vendors funded by venture capital firms may also be included in the report even if the venture capital firm has a financial stake in the vendor's company.
