The South Shore Young Professionals an affiliate of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce FoodSquire as the recipient of its 2017 Foundation Grant in the amount of $10,000.

The award was announced during the SSYP’s December 13th Holiday Party.

FoodSquire, located in Marshfield, is a restaurant food delivery service application with a basic four step business model. Consumers search the FoodSquire website (www.foodsquire.com), select from among participating restaurants, pay and then enjoy upon delivery.

The idea, according to Joe Capone, founder of FoodSquire, along with company officer Rick Warren and Jason Michonski, is based on feedback from others and personal experiences when ordering food delivery.

The FoodSquire tag line "Delivery and Pickup Done Right," speaks to the company’s mission to not only provide an outstanding consumer interface, but to also ensure additional measures of control for merchants and delivery drivers.

“The SSYP Foundation Grant will allow us to continue to hire staff and roll out programs,” said Capone, noting that FoodSquire’s presence will be in the South Shore soon. “We also have major plans for advertising and in addition the grant will enable us to continue to add features from a computer programming standpoint.”

Capone added, “Having this money helps us replenish funds as we get through this phase of initial launch; the $10,000 will ultimately allow us to create hundreds of thousands of dollars of revenue. We can’t say thank you enough.”

The SSYP Foundation Grant has a mission to support entrepreneurship and fuel the economic development of the South Shore through a program that fosters ideas and innovations. Past recipients are G Force Shipping, Friendship Home, Shockyard Fitness, Ananya, Inc., Rustic Marlin Designs, and Hide-A-Vent.

“One of the many missions of the South Shore Young Professionals (SSYP) is to fuel the economic development of the South Shore through its Foundation Grant Program; our goal is to support entrepreneurship and encourage economic growth on the South Shore,” said Kaitlyn Litchfield, Executive Director of the SSYP. “We’re delighted to announce FoodSquire as this year’s recipient; it is a concept that has success written all over it!”
