FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--International Data Corporation (IDC) today published an IDC Innovators report naming three wearable technology vendors in the developing market segments of wearable technology for commercial use. The enterprise wearables technology vendors named as IDC Innovators were: Hipaax, ProGlove, and WearSafe.
Hipaax focuses on connected worker technology by bringing actionable workflow data to smartwatches for employees. ProGlove brings scanning technology to a glove, enabling stock-takers to quickly scan and move inventory. WearSafe provides "Safety-as-a-Service" for remote workers, collecting and transmitting user information to first responders in an emergency.
"Up until this point, wearables in the enterprise have mostly been relegated to consumer solutions," said Ramon T. Llamas, research manager, Wearables at IDC. "Fitness trackers, for example, have been a boon for enterprise wellness programs, but have not directly impacted worker productivity. The companies in this report take a different approach by offering solutions that inject themselves into a company's work processes and work flows, and reveal new insights about both."
The new report, Three Companies Bringing Wearable Solutions to the IT Buyer (IDC #US43212417), profiles wearables technology providers that offer an innovative technology or a groundbreaking new business model or both. The IDC Innovators research document examines wearables technology providers with revenue of less than $100 million with a product, service, or business model with a specific use case.
About IDC Innovators
IDC Innovators reports present a set of vendors – under $100M in revenue at time of selection – chosen by an IDC analyst within a specific market that offer an innovative new technology, a groundbreaking approach to an existing issue, and/or an interesting new business model. It is not an exhaustive evaluation of all companies in a segment or a comparative ranking of the companies. Vendors in the process of being acquired by a larger company may be included in the report provided the acquisition is not finalized at the time of publication of the report. Vendors funded by venture capital firms may also be included in the report even if the venture capital firm has a financial stake in the vendor's company.
