NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Xerox Services’ ability to turn ideas into business results is being recognized for its strong development processes, culture of innovation and relentless customer focus as the “Outstanding Corporate Innovator” for 2016.
The Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), a global community representing more than 2,000 professionals, selected Xerox Services for its 2016 Outstanding Corporate Innovator Award (OCI), citing its use of automation, analytics and personalization to provide business process solutions for customers in a wide range of industries.
The PDMA award represents a significant milestone for the company and stands out among innovation awards because the program requires applicants to show:
- sustained, quantifiable success in turning creative ideas into innovative new products and services;
- best of breed innovation characteristics proven over a five-year time frame.
“We work closely with clients, applying innovation to design and implement business operations to transform their businesses,” said Ashok Vemuri, CEO, Xerox Services. “We redesign business processes and augment them with innovation to unlock value for our clients.”
Fifty-three organizations have received the OCI Award over the course of its 29-year history, including BMW, Clorox, Corning and Dow Chemical. Xerox is the only company to receive the OCI award twice – winning in 2006 for the use of innovation in its printing business.
The PDMA considered more than 25 key innovations that Xerox launched in transportation, healthcare, and customer care industries including: the Xerox Vehicle Passenger Detection System; the Xerox Automation Suite; and Juvo Care Performance Platform. PDMA also acknowledged Xerox’s culture of innovation that embraces ingenuity, agile development practices and disciplined portfolio management.
“The OCI Committee recognized Xerox Services Division’s learning culture and the innovative use of lean development practices, disciplined portfolio management and platform innovation,” said Suzanne Thompson, chair of PDMA’s OCI selection committee.
With more than 12,500 active U.S. patents, Xerox has a long history of innovation and continues to be one of the top global innovators.
