Comtrade Software, a leading provider of enterprise IT infrastructure and application management, monitoring and data protection solutions, today announced its new global headquarters, executive leadership and board members in Boston. The move will position the company for accelerated U.S. growth.
"We are thrilled that Comtrade Software has chosen Boston as the home for their new global headquarters," said Mayor Martin J. Walsh. "Boston is a leader in the technology and innovation sectors due to the innovative work by companies such as Comtrade Software, who are offering technological solutions to help businesses succeed. We look forward to their continued success as they as they grow and expand in Boston."
The company formerly known as a Comtrade System Software & Tools was a division of Ljubljana, Slovenia'sComtrade Group. That division is now a standalone company, Comtrade Software, with global headquarters inBoston. The company will continue to build industry-leading enterprise software for companies in the United States. In January 2016, Comtrade Software's extensive suite of management solutions for Citrix was acquired by Citrix. Comtrade Software continues to develop software for the world's best technology companies, including Microsoft, HP, Oracle, F5 and Nutanix, to name a few. In May 2016, Comtrade Software released its latest Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Management Pack for Nutanix.
Simon Taylor, of Brookline, was named president of Comtrade Software. In his role, he will be responsible for building out the organization's U.S. operations. Previously, Taylor was senior vice president and general manager of Comtrade Software Systems & Tools. Taylor also serves on the board of local nonprofits, including College Bound Dorchester and The Cambridge School of Weston.
"As we looked at possible locations in the U.S., it was quickly evident that Boston was the best choice for Comtrade Software's global headquarters," said Taylor. "The city has a flourishing tech scene, and by bringing our offices here, we are well-positioned to continue our push into the U.S. market, while simultaneously gaining access to some of the most seasoned and talented tech professionals in the world."
Comtrade Software has appointed three of those renowned tech professionals to its board of directors:
- Andy Cohen is the vice president of strategic development and investments at Citrix Systems, Inc. where he has been since 2006 and is responsible for M&A strategy and execution, technology licensing and strategic investments. Prior to Citrix, he worked as a venture capitalist, in corporate development and finance for Parametric Technology and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Corrigan led the strategy, product development and marketing efforts for Softricity, which Microsoft acquired in 2006. In 2010, Corrigan orchestrated the sale of his hypervisor company Neocleus to Intel. Corrigan serves on the board of Boston College High School.

"Comtrade Software is bridging gaps in the enterprise tech world better than its competition, and the company's move to the United States is going to position it to be an even bigger player in the industry," said Corrigan. "Comtrade Software's commitment to Boston is evident not only in its choice to locate here, but also in the critical roles its leaders play in both donating to and volunteering for several local nonprofits."
