Sonus SBC 7000 Chosen by R&R Managed Telecom Services to Deliver Hosted SBC Services

8/29/16

Sonus Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: SONS), a global leader in secure and intelligent Cloud communications, announced today that R&R Managed Telecom Services has selected the SBC 7000 as the next-generation platform for its new hosted SBC services. The SBC 7000 will allow R&R to securely increase its current network capacity while decreasing network costs.

With the SBC 7000, R&R will offer hosted SBC services to carriers via its secure Cloud network. In response to the market shift toward all-IP communications, the SBC 7000 will allow R&R to provide pure SIP connectivity between carriers and its peers and customers. Beyond the industry-leading capacity, rich interworking and advanced security afforded by the SBC 7000, R&R also expects to leverage the solution's advanced analytics to deliver and ensure exceptional quality of service to its customers.

The decision to proceed with the SBC 7000 is the latest milestone in a customer journey that began more than a decade ago when R&R launched its VoIP network with the Sonus GSX 9000 and SBC 9000. Future plans for the managed services provider include the integration of virtualized SBC technology to increase its market presence, something R&R can easily do today as the SBC 7000 and the SBC SWe share a common management and provisioning interface. This functionality enables customers, such as R&R, to move from circuit to packet to the Cloud with the same vendor without a massive investment in their OSS and BSS infrastructure, minimizing hardware and operational costs.

Quotes:

"The Sonus SBC 7000 offered us a much better fit than the alternatives in terms of simplicity, intuitive interface, session density and capabilities," said Ilya Belov, co-founder, R&R Managed Telecom Services. "We were very lucky to choose Sonus products in the early days of VoIP. It's an extensive effort to build a partitioned service network, and to be able to upgrade it over the last 12 years without changing the core has been a clear advantage for us."

"As an SBC-as-a-Service provider to hundreds of carriers, R&R has to meet ultra-high levels of reliability and resiliency every day," said Mykola Konrad, Sonus vice president, Product Management and Marketing. "Providing high scale with reliability is a cornerstone attribute of the SBC 7000 and we bring the same innovation to our Cloud-based SBC platform, the SBC SWe."
