Franciscan Children’s, located in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, announced today that Marissa Udelsman, PNP-BC, has joined the Franciscan Pediatrics practice to serve as an additional Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to better meet the needs of the local community.

Most recently, Udelsman served as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) at a primary care practice in her home state of Oregon; just prior to that, she worked as a registered nurse and volunteered at a local free clinic in Connecticut while getting her Master’s in Nursing  at Yale University. In her role as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Franciscan Pediatric clinic, Udelsman will be available weekdays to see children from the community for well and sick visits.  She and the rest of the team are committed to providing comprehensive care to patients from infancy through their teen years with the goal of obtaining the best possible health outcomes.

Each year the Pediatric Clinic at Franciscan Children’s sees more than 3,000 children of all abilities who need comprehensive and preventative care from birth.  Located conveniently on the campus of Franciscan Children’s, the Pediatric practice serves as a medical home offering  coordinated and  accessible care to children from the local community.

“Our primary care pediatric clinic allows us to extend beyond the specialty care for which we’re known by providing critical access to healthcare to the children of the Allston/Brighton and neighboring communities.  ,” said John D. Nash, President and CEO. “Marissa understands our commitment to family-centered care that is customized to the needs of the individual child and family. She is an excellent addition to our growing team at Franciscan Children’s.”

Udelsman holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Chapman University, with an emphasis in exercise physiology, and a Master’s in Nursing, specializing in Pediatrics, from Yale.  She returned to the East Coast with her husband, who is currently a third year resident at Mass. General Hospital. They currently reside in Boston’s Beacon Hill.
