popular Japanese kitchen & sushi bar introduces new menu offerings for brunch as well as private functions

Crudo, a modern Japanese Kitchen & Sushi Bar blending the art of sushi with modern local ingredients, has reached an important milestone: its first anniversary.

Located in Boston’s historic North End at 78 Salem Street, the popular dining spot set out to be bold and innovative from day one, offering Japanese inspired social plates with a blend of Pan Asian cuisine and creative sushi. Owner Nicholas Leo said that his goal was to offer the neighborhood a refreshing new dining option. “We created menu choices to appeal to our diverse clientele,” he said, noting that in its first year Crudo has become popular with diners of all ages. “In particular, though, our menu and choices are very popular with the young professionals who live and work in this area.”

The restaurant has enjoyed a number of favorable reviews and was featured on Phantom Gourmet.

Recently, Crudo expanded its offerings with the introduction of a function/catering menu, as well as brunch offerings. Brunch is now served Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a large Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar not to be missed.

For individuals or parties seeking a function/ private dining option, the Crudo menu includes family style dinners, as well as select offerings including hors d’oeuvres, and an extensive range of meat, seafood, veggie, and sushi delicacies to choose from. For the weekend brunch, diners can select from the traditional bacon and eggs or French toast to Salmon Benni, the Crudo veggie omelette, scrambled Maki, Lox roll, and dozens of other offerings. Libations include an intriguing blend of a Bloody Mary and Mimosa Bar, with a “make your own” option. Both menus can be downloaded by visiting the Crudo website at www.crudoboston.com.

Crudo was also invited, recently, to showcase its sushi offerings as one of 12 sushi restaurants invited to participate in the Sapporo Sushi Sunday event at the Central Wharf Company, in celebration of International Sushi Day. Crudo Executive Sushi Chef Ming “Tony” Gan Wu provided the crowd with a free taste of Crudo’s finest Sushi bites.

“It was great to participate in this community event and in all of the events we’ve been part of during our first year in operation,” said Leo, adding, “We are grateful to our customers for their strong support over the last twelve months. We have some exciting innovations planned for year two, so everybody stay tuned!”

Crudo, located at 78 Salem Street, Boston, is a sushi and Japanese fusion eatery which offers two floors of dining, and two bars. Diners can choose from traditional, contemporary Japanese dishes as well as freshly made sushi offerings. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. daily.
