The New England Employee Benefits Council (NEEBC) presents “Just What the Doctor Ordered” – Solutions for Your Rx Program a How To Series on Thursday, August 11. This half-day program is designed to provide employers of all sizes with a clear understanding of prescription drug costs and to equip benefits professionals with the strategies to manage these costs in order to keep health care plans affordable.
More than 25 percent of today's employer health care costs stem from prescription drugs. While more than one third of this cost is spent on specialty drugs, industry predictions indicate specialty drug costs may comprise 50 percent of all drug spending by 2018. Join leading professionals William F. Bell, Jr., Clinical Account Executive at Southern Scripts, LLC; George Bognar, Vice President and Health Consultant at The Segal Group; and Alan Shubin, Southeast Division Pharmacy Practice Leader at Willis Towers Watson, to find out what steps your organization can take to contain prescription drug expenditures. Topics to be discussed include:
- Overview of the current prescription drug environment
- Fundamentals of pharmacy spending and breaking down prescription drug costs
- How to select a PBM
- Specialty drug cost drivers and future projections
- Cost containment strategies for employers of all sizes
- Pharmacy benefit tools and employee engagement
The August 11 program will be held from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Doubletree Hotel (by Hilton) with Registration, Breakfast and Networking starting at 8:00. The hotel is located at 5400 Computer Drive in Westborough, Massachusetts. NEEBC is recognized by SHRM to offer 3 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
